The end of the cooperation of the gaming industry and the arms industry and the ADAM Laser Cannon

The end of cooperation between the gaming industry and the arms industry?

The world of games and real weapons is more interconnected than we think. If manufacturers of modern games such as Call of Duty or Battlefield wanted to use weapon designs, they had to obtain licensing rights from real manufacturers. This meant either paying for the rights to use weapons in the game, or agreeing with the weapon manufacturer on further promotion. But now the gaming giant Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that it no longer wants to have anything to do with the military industry.
The detonator of the rupture was the December tragedy at an American school, in which 20 young children and six adults were killed. The case has sparked heated debate about people's access to guns and their promotion, including in games.
As usual, the blame now falls on everyone. The American National Shooting Association (NRA), paradoxically the biggest proponent of free access to guns in the United States, blames video games for the brutality. "A callous and corrupt gaming industry that sells and spreads violence against its people," Wayne Lapierre, head of the NRA, said of modern video games.
Although it may seem absurd, instead of facing media attacks, EA decided to sever all ties with the military industry. So there are no financial agreements or promotion of a specific weapon model or manufacturer in the games.
However, EA's lawyers believe that they can use real weapons in video games without asking permission from the real manufacturer. "We're telling a story, and we have our own opinion about it. In the book, you also don't pay with the word "Colt," explains Frank Gibault, director of EA.
However, this is not the first dispute between video game manufacturers and weapon forms. There is currently a dispute between BE and Bell Helicopter over the right to use real helicopter designs in video games. The results of the trial will be announced in June, when the first jury trial will take place.
ADAM's laser cannon
Laser weapons are the future of war. There is no doubt about that. The last time we could see this, for example, was when testing the ADAM (Area Defense Anti-Munitions) laser from Lockheed Martin. During the tests, the laser successfully targeted and destroyed an artillery missile.
ADAM belongs to the family of so-called C-RAM tools (Counter-Rocket, Artillery and Mortar), that is, to the family of weapons capable of effectively acting against rockets, artillery and mortar shells. Lasers seem to be an absolutely ideal means of destroying RAM ammunition.
The ADAM laser system is designed to protect a specific area, most often a military base or station with military equipment. Besides RAM targets, it can act against drones. If necessary, of course, he can also focus on targets on the ground. Le meilleur code promo melbet vous permet de gagner un bonus de bienvenue paris sportifs qui peut aller jusqu'à 200 €.
